Role
We are looking for a passionate young designer with an understanding of image recognition systems to help with the hardware development process. You will work with a highly talented cross-functional team spread across the UK, Europe, and India and will learn a lot about product development, Computer Vision, and Hardware manufacturing.
This role is an excellent fit for an Industrial engineer with a great understanding of sensors and optics.

Responsibilities
  • Rapidly iterate and innovate the development strategies and execute by collaborating with Computer Vision and Machine learning experts.
  • Understand constraints related to feasibility, viability, and desirability of the solution
  • Conduct research in Operating Rooms and Central Sterile Service Divisions(SSDs)
  • Perform activities to reduce user risks, from early user tests to design validation.
  • Consider the entire journey of the solution. Consider how the solution can be designed in a more user-friendly way while being aligned with Scalpel's vision.
  • Plan, perform, and document design validation activities.
  • Traveling for fieldwork is part of the job (up to about 20%).

Eligibility
  • You have:
    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of professional experience or a Masters's degree in Industrial Design Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering or similar
    • Profound insight into user-centered design methodologies
    • Exceptional 3D surface modeling and solid modeling skills, preferably in Solidworks, and creating photorealistic renders in KeyShot.
    • Excellent knowledge of 3D printing and creating high-fidelity prototypes.
    • An excellent understanding of manufacturing techniques and materials.
    • Hands-on experience in the early-middle stages of product design activities.
    • Experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, digital sketching software, and hand sketching.
    • Strong observation skills and attention to detail
    • A portfolio in which your skills and feel for industrial design are presented

    • Experience working in Healthcare
    • Have developed products that are deployed in hospitals
